Nisan Caglayan

The focus of the work is on material experiments with brewer’s spent grains in combination with natural binders. The goal was to find new possible applications in furniture and interior objects.

Brewer’s spent grains are produced as process waste when brewing beer. At the end of its life, the material can either be recycled – or is biodegradable.

The project follows the principles of the circular design. The result is a conceptual furniture piece that expresses the interplay of material and design language.
